Seizing Foreign Trade Opportunities, Launching Career Journeys
Business English Faculty and Students Attend the China Auto Valley Foreign Trade Talent Job Fair
(Reporter: Qiu Xinxin) To further broaden students’ employment channels, precisely align with the foreign trade job market, and enhance the job-seeking and workplace adaptability of Business English majors, on the morning of May 15, all students from Class 3, Grade 2025 of the Business English major, led by faculty members Mr. Xia Xin and Ms Qiu Xinxin, went to the Wuhan Sports Center (China Auto Valley Brand Operation Center) to attend the “Win-Win Trade Journey” Foreign Trade Talent Job Fair. This event was part of the 2026 Hubei Pilot Free Trade Zone (China Auto Valley) Foreign Trade Entity Cultivation Initiative.
Co-hosted by the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce (Free Trade Office) and the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone Management Committee, this job fair gathered numerous premium enterprises from the Development Zone and across the province in sectors such as the automotive industry, import and export trade, and cross-border e-commerce. The available positions were highly compatible with majors like Business English, International Trade, Foreign Languages, Cross-border E-commerce, and Automotive Engineering, providing Business English students with a well-matched, high-quality platform for job matching.
The event was bustling with attendees, and corporate recruitment booths were neatly arranged. Students actively inquired about companies’ development prospects, job requirements, salary packages, and the specifics of foreign trade roles. They engaged proactively in communication based on their professional strengths and career plans, submitting resumes on the spot and consulting on job details, which showcased the excellent spirit and professional caliber of Business English students.
Leading teacher Mr. Xia Xin accompanied the students throughout the entire job fair. Drawing on the business directions and hiring criteria of the participating foreign trade enterprises, he provided one-on-one on-site career guidance for the students, focusing on the characteristics of the Business English major, highlights of their personal resumes, interview communication skills, and career development paths in foreign trade. He advised students to leverage their language advantages in Business English, cultivate core competencies in foreign trade negotiation, cross-border operations, and international business, accurately match job requirements, and find their precise career positioning. Meanwhile, he reminded everyone to seize the trend of automotive exports, grasp the new opportunities presented by the development of the foreign trade industry in China Auto Valley, and find their employment direction in the international sector. Ms Qiu Xinxin simultaneously assisted students in clarifying their job-seeking strategies, patiently answered their career choices concerns, and encouraged them to confidently showcase themselves and cherish this government-enterprise exclusive recruitment opportunity.
This exclusive foreign trade job fair allowed Business English students to engage closely with frontline foreign trade enterprises and gain an intuitive understanding of the current talent demand in the international trade and automotive export industries, effectively bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace practice. Moving forward, the Department of Business English will continue to rely on its professional characteristics, keep pace with regional foreign trade industry development trends, and empower students’ employment and growth through practical activities. It will guide Business English students to leverage their language advantages, dive deep into the international business sector, and realize their own value amidst the wave of high-quality foreign trade development.
